I must admit, I almost didn't throw her a party because (a) I'm not confident about entertaining guests, and (b) I'm just plain lazy. But she really can grasp the concept of a party and friends. So I called a few locals last minute, and voila! It was worth it. Someone asked me what theme I had for her birthday. Theme? What's that? :) I think it's pretty funny that someone got her a life-size baby doll. What a relief--she now throws that thing around instead of the real baby.
We are just pleased with Elena. I love how she runs out of her room every morning and greets me with a hug. I love how she wants me to read to her, and play with her. And I love how she can also entertain herself when I need a break.
Elena is strong. She can climb like a monkey. She bikes with great speed (with her training wheels). She speaks quite a bit, is still independent and fearless, and can be very energetic. When things don't go her way, she breaks down into a hysteria---just like her
We love Elena so much and pray for many more years to come.
Thank you (you know who) for the gifts that she received!
note--cupcake on wednesday, her real bday:
