Should I mention that Elena then accidentally hit him with a necklace? And the babe cried?
Naaaaaah.
Sometimes I mournfully reminisce about my past lives: being a free kid, single, college, traveling, mission, old jobs, married-no children...
But today as I watched the kids smile and laugh together, I was filled with joy. I'm learning to find a deepening satisfaction being at home with my kids, and developing relationships with them.
Because one day they might get all independent-minded like me, eager to bust out of the house and see the world. And I hope that I'll happily support them with a tear in my eye, grateful for the season we had together.
P.S. Yesterday at a restaurant, a waitress told me, "As I was carrying my youngest child to bed, I looked down and realized that her dangling feet were brushing the floor. They grow up so fast!"
