Elena's fourth birthday

October 3rd: Elena turned 4 years old!!!

But let's back up to October 2nd, when I tried to convince Elena she only wanted a little birthday party with family.

No, mom, I want lots of friends!

So that night I emailed her play-buddies' parents, offering to take their children while they go out on a date.  (The thought of multiple children with multiple parents was overwhelming for our little home.)

And that night, I sped to Target, and bought a few birthday items.

On October 3rd, Elena woke up to a Happy Birthday Balloon from Daddy.  She was very excited.  And for the rest of the day, Elena played with the balloons and helped me decorate for her party.

That night, we as a family sang happy bday, and Elena ate a cupcake and opened her present-- nontoxic nail polish.  She has a horrible nail-biting habit (learned from her mother), and we're attempting to stop it.

The following Friday was her actual bday party.  Highlights were: pin the tail on the unicorn and beat the pinata.  They had a great time.
