There was a time when I was very adventurous. When Dan and I were without children, we took off every free Saturday and explored a new part of Washington. We could go all day! When Elena was added to our family, we still took off often. The other moms around me called me adventurous, while they called themselves 'homebodies'. At that time, being a homebody was boring, and I tried to get out of the house everyday.
But now... NOW! I get the whole homebody thing! Because outings with multiple children takes more effort. Much more effort.
We did it! Today we bussed downtown. I can't believe how long it had been since I last went downtown via bus. But we did it for about 2.5 hours, and returned safely (and exhaustively) home. I'm glad we went. But let me tell you, 2.5 hours was enough for me!
