Other events:
Took the Wayments to Paradise, Mt Rainier and hiked around. Unfortunately Mt Rainier was covered by a cloud, but it was still beautiful!

We got to go to an Idina Menzel concert! FOR FREE! All summer we had been listening to the Broadway Show "Wicked" in the car. I told Dan that one day when Wicked comes back to Seattle, we've got to see it as a family. But I was so bummed because we could never see it with the original cast. Then...THEN! Nicole Brady got us free tickets to Idina's concert, and guess what?!? She sang THREE songs from Wicked! It was SOOOO awesome. I loved that Elena knew the songs and was singing along. At the end, Idina sang "Let it go from Frozen" and invited the kids to the stage to sing it with her. SO AWESOME!
We got to view the eclipse from a nearby park. We weren't in totality, but it was still cool to witness.
Our stake had a little carnival in the parking lot. Got to see Elise and Shanilla, who are about to go off to college. I'm so sad to see them go, but so happy for their next adventure. Lovely young women.

Dan and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary by sipping from our Taiwanese teacups that we got from Lisa on our wedding day. Hola came over to watch the kids at night and we ran off to watch Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Thank goodness for the date, cause Dan and I needed it!
Took the kids to Franklin Falls as our last summer hike hurrah! Kids played in the water. I fell in taking this picture. :)
I can't remember the rest of August other than the fact that the house got painted. Long story short, I panicked, I changed my mind a hundred times, and we ended up going with a color that I found in my kitchen drawer. I don't love it, but I don't hate it. HA! We are just glad that the house exterior is done. If anything, it is now protected from the elements. And we are so glad that we hired Isaias and his crew. I loved speaking spanish with them. They were such hard workers, and most kind. (And very patient with our last minute color switcharoos).
