October 2017

General Conference weekend came and went.  We stayed home and watched it from our computer, and we tinkered around and went on a bike ride in between sessions.  It was a beautiful warm weekend.

Took the kids to the Farm at Swan's Trail!  I absolutely love driving through open pasture.  Kids love it too. I sometimes wonder when Elena will feel too old for this stuff...not yet!

We had a surprise visit from Tara Hunt and kids.  She came down for the weekend from Boise, ID.  She vagabonded around, and we were so grateful that they came by and had dinner with us.

Elena turned EIGHT and chose to be baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  It was a special weekend.  Both Grandmas flew in.  Gma Kim spoke on Baptism, and Gma Sue spoke on the Gift of the Holy Ghost.  Dan performed the baptism.  He also performed the confirmation, along with Ben Wayment and Mark Foulger.  Many attended, including: The Foulgers, Wayments, Eltons, Becks, Rosells, Rabans, Everys, Pulokas, Birklands, Forshlers, Whalens, Piersons, and her Sunday School teacher Sister Richardson.

We later celebrated Elena's birthday by going to the Great Wolf Lodge.  Elena is all about skipping a party, since we suggested this last year.  We can't do this every year, but the kids sure do LOVE it.

Went to the Children's Museum a couple of times, and watched the fire department practice at the water ball one of those times.

One week was super social: The Rosells came by for dinner on a monday, then Geno came over on Tuesday afternoon, We fed the missionaries Wednesday, The Morgan's came over for dinner on Thursday... and that's about it.  HA!  How did that happen?  We are especially glad that we got to see the Morgans: Shanilla is about to go off to college and I haven't seen them in practially a year!

And of course October is all about Halloween.  We decorated the house for the first time, went to our Ward's trunk or treat and trick or treated with local neighbors on two streets next to our house.  I stayed home and passed out candy with Charlie.
