At about 11:30 Genny called me at work and told me that she was staying for another appointment she set up in the afternoon to hear the heartbeat of the baby. There wasn't enough time for me to ride my bike up to Seattle and Genny hadn't the time to drive down and pick me up for the appointment. I made Genny promise to call me at my desk when they heard the heartbeat and to leave a voice message of the heartbeat if I was away.
So, I agreed. (Genny)
Then came the appointment, and when I asked if I could put my hubby on speaker while we heard the heartbeat, the lady said, "Oh, you won't be hearing a heart beat... you'll get to SEE it. And see it I did! Heartbeat, hands, head, brain... everything. I was sooo touched that this living thing was in me. And so sad for Daniel, knowing that he would be sooo sad he missed it. So when I told him, he said, "Nooooo! I'm a bad father!" hehehehe. WHOOPS!
So here's our little tyke! We'll find out in another month her gender:
We're ready!
On to other events. The sun has come out and it is beautiful! We are going on Day 3 in a row. Apparently there's a TON to see here in the beautiful state of Washington. So we made our first outing at Alki beach, only 20 min away. It was pretty. It's not like a California beach. It has some sand, but you look out and there are forest covered islands and snow covered mountains off in the distance. We watched sail boats and cruise ships take off from Seattle into the ocean. Very pretty. We plan to do a lot of more outdoorsly stuff now that the weather has brightened up.

Sorry, Dan! That was kind of tragic. But what a special experience! Congrats. :)
Hey Genny, you are really a pregnant MAMA !!!!!
Dan, don't miss the next appointment! Grandpapapapapa Higdon
Sad! Did they video it for you to take home to Daniel? Not only does it make it more real, but it is so nice to know that everything looks ok health-wise! That's cool that you got to see the baby before the 20 wk ultrasound though!
Jas came to most of my appointments with Kate, it was all new, I was so nervous, and I about pass out when they take my blood (every time, without fail). I didn't ask him to come to hardly any with Ethan because most appointments really are uneventful. The 1st heartbeat, ultrasounds, and "Can I go to the hospital to get this baby out NOW" appointments are the only ones eventful enough to have them take valuable time off of work!
I was looking to see if there was a due date posted anywhere and noticed you wrote you will find out "her" gender in another month. So, are you thinking it's a girl?!
Happy to see you both! Wow, you can see transparent spirit in a little world! What a exciting event!
I like the picture with beam of light upon baby bed that looks so angelic! Dan, you can not miss life time experience! Baby like to see you as much as you want to see him. well, only through the ultra sound this time. congratulation! :)
I don't know why Dan wrote "her". He was checking to see if anyone caught that:)
I am due October 3rd they believe.
