The San Juan Islands

We left Friday morning at 5am and drove 1.5 hours to Anacortes.
From there we hopped on a ferry to Orcas Island for a day and night, and Lopez Island for a day.
It was beautiful, peaking at a glorious 75 degrees.
Elena was sick the whole time with a horrible fever.
She still had happy moments.
Dan and I have rarely biked since Elena's birth.  SAD!  We borrowed a bike trailer and spent time on both islands biking.  There was barely any traffic.  The roads were ours!  Lopez Island especially is the place to go to bike.  Low hills and rolling farmland.  Must go back and bike more of Lopez Island, MUST!

Orcas Island has a state park that you can hike (we drove) to see a beautiful overlook of the surrounding islands.  Though crooked, this shot was my favorite:
On the ferry, returning to the mainland.  A short two days well spent.  A successful vacation!
