I asked Dan, "A week has gone by. What have we done?"
"Survived!" he responded.
Dan kind of hit a wall with his schooling. He felt like he didn't have enough time to figure out his assignment this week. That, coupled with more hours at work; I think he's just glad for a new week.
When he suffers like this, I start to feel guilty when I don't put out the best meals or the cleanest house... Well, don't get me wrong-- I do a decent job. ;)
BUT! Saturday he complained when I didn't put my mess away after I quickly made lunch. I got so mad at him for complaining, I locked myself in the bedroom and watched 2.5 hours of "Larkrise to Candleford," while hearing occasional children and Fathering going on. Then I stepped out of my dark bedroom, fully rejuvenated for having ME time, into an immaculately clean house. Sadly, I wasn't appreciative. Maybe it was because he said, "Look what I did!"
Don't worry, we are happily married again.
So what did happen this week? Watched kids for a sick pregnant mother, went to the park a couple times, had a kid buddy over. That's pretty much it. And Dan?--A lot of work, and a lot of homework.
Church is humerus-- Michael just likes to wander. So as much as we would love to listen intently to people's talks, we are chasing around a run-away son. Elena used to be like that, and now she sits still, so I know Michael's time will come.
Today I taught the Young Women. I showed them a picture of Dan and I, my diploma, and a mission album. I asked, "What do these three things have in common?.... PATIENCE!" hehehe.
Anyway, Elena and I crimped our hair for church today. CUUUUUTE.
