We got to spend time in San Jose with Grandma Foulger for a couple of days. While Dan took ill and rested A LOT, I took off to the hills each day and walked around, dodging the wild boars. (Jk, I didn't see any). We enjoyed the Christmas program at church, where Gma Foulger played the piano and Aunt Sharon sang in the choir.
Then down to Los Angeles we went to finish off the trip. We stopped at Pismo beach, where a wave knocked Elena over. And that water was COLD!!! Elena took it pretty well.
Christmas Day, the Higdon children gathered for gift exchanges, and we sang to Gma Higdon. (--who is 101 years old! She'll be turning 102 in March.) Some how we didn't take pictures of the gathering. But Dan did snap an old family photo. I'm the one with the big head :).
We spent Christmas evening with the Korean relatives. It was a particularly special year, because our Auntie Hae came with two of her kids from Brazil. It had been five years since we last saw them!
A "Kim" reunion with all of my mom's siblings:
(back: Auntie Hae, mom, Auntie Angela; front: Uncles Shangy and Soongy)
And the posterity. (Who later did the Wii dance, which was hilarious to see. Elena loved it.)
The day after Christmas we flew home and enjoyed the rest of Dan's vacation tinkering around.
And tried ice skating!
