I think when Elena was a little baby, Grandma Sue sent us a book of art projects we could do around the house. Well, Elena is now four, and I would like to announce that we did our first project:
making clay beads. Elena loved it.
Step 1: mix 1/2 c salt, 1/2 c cornstarch, 3/4 c flour. Then mix in enough warm water until it forms a dough. (I also added food coloring here because I didn't want to paint them later)
Step 2: make the beads
Step 3: give them a couple of days to dry
Step 4: string them into a necklace
Elena is definitely yearning to learn.
Maybe we should put her into preschool this next year. We'll see.
