Paradise, Mt Rainier

If we had waited for the perfect time to go to Mt Rainier this summer, we would have never gone!  Too many things going on.  It was so beautiful this week, and I was growing bitter that we weren't spending that time up in the mountains.   We are so glad we jumped into the car on Saturday at around 1pm and drove 3 hrs to Paradise.  After meandering on the mountain for 4 hrs, we finally made it back at home at 11pm.  Talk about a day trip!

The best part was being able to see the sunset--something we had never experienced before.  The sky turned into pretty pinks, yellow, and blues-- a beautiful backdrop to the mountains.  It was breathtaking.  Not only that, but becuase the crowd of people were gone, we were able to see four deer.  One walked right past us, and the other three were standing right in our path, eating their greens!  Unfortunately our camera died, so we couldn't capture any of that.

Mt Rainier behind us

The sky was so clear, you could see Mt Adams on the left and Mt St Helen's on the right.  Volcano land!

Cute kids

We've got great troopers.  Yes, Michael did drag his feet at first, but he finally got into it and walked a lot.  Elena can go go go.  Cora was content.  It was a great day in Paradise.  :) :) :)
