Christmas in Washington?

Merry Christmas!  This year we did not plan our annual road trip to California.  We thought the market was going to crash after the elections, and then we would get a killer deal on a house by Christmas.  Well, the market didn't crash, interest rates went up, and we are still in the cottage.  Ha!  There's a lesson on life planning!  You can laugh.  You can cry.  I've done both.

Dan had the week after Christmas off, so we went bowling, park hopped, and enjoyed a couple of days in Leavenworth, WA!  The kids had a blast.  We stayed at the Bavarian Lodge which included great breakfasts and a swimming pool. That place was pricey so we made sure the kids stuffed their faces for breakfast, and then we had snacks, frozen burritos and cup o noodles for the rest of our meals, ha! It was snowing, the kids went sledding and tubing, and we walked around the beautifully lit Bavarian town.  Watched Happy Feet and the 1st Harry Potter, which was scarier than we remembered.  :)  On our way home, we found a hill near Snoqualmie Pass and the kids played in the beautiful snow.  Enjoyed food with friends on New Years Eve.  A successful Christmas break!  Now go back to school!
