Hello, summer is here.

Hello!  It's mid summer here in the Pacific Northwest, and this is my favorite time of year.  The kids are in swim lessons, and their skin is getting extra Vitamin D.  Other than that, the library and the local parks are all the kids really need and want.  Thank goodness.

Still, we like to explore, and we spent a couple of days on the Olympic Peninsula, hiking in the mountains, and fake-camping at the KOA.  Kids loved it.  And although I'm sad that we don't have cheap access to a pool, the lakes are free, and the kids have enjoyed a little of that. 

This is also the time of year to fix anything on the outside of the house.  The roof, the deck, and the siding all need to be spruced up to protect the house.  We even found some TERMITES!  Home ownership.  It's a blessing, but feels a little burden$ome too.
