Well, it's not ours. Our friends are letting us live here and we are so grateful to them! I mean, no one around here would rent out such a small space to a family of five! So we are very grateful to them!
Front view of the cottage, with model Michael there.
From the entrydoor, you walk straight into the kitchen/dining room. I bought that prep table to the left, which has been a huge lifesaver, as that is where we prepare our food. Do you like that apartment-size stove? First time I ever used one. (I know, spoiled American!)
Turn left from the kitchen and there is the downstairs living/parents bedroom. That mattress-like thing on the floor is in reality 1 japanese futon and two camppads, stacked on top of eachother. By day, we use it as... a couch? And by night, we spread it out and it's our bed. On the other side of the room is our laundry basket and collapsible chair (aka campchair.) There are two small closet spaces in there: one for Dan and one for me.
If you walk into our bedroom/downstairs living room there is a small bathroom off the side. Our family bathroom. Complete with a stall shower! Small, but it does the job.
We shall now reenter the kitchen from the downstairs bedroom/living space. There on the right is our diningroom table. The stools are great to hide under the table. A space-saver.
Up the stairs is the GIANT ROOM/ real living room/ kids room. Don't you love all of the windows? To the left of this photo are those ikea shelves that have all of the kids toys, books, and clothes. To the right there are little cubbies where the kids sleep.
Here is a better view of the cubbies where the kids sleep. Elena and Michael each have a toddler bed behind the green curtain, and Cora has her bed behind the pink curtain.
THE END!
All I can say is this, paint does wonders. The upstairs was recently remodeled, so it's pretty new, but the downstairs needed some major TLC. Paint, paint, and more paint.

It took a lot of prepwork to fit in here. We really had to minimize our belongings. But it's quite a lovely bit of space and we are enjoying it... for the most part.
One thing I learned is that I cannot put off cleaning. If you dont clean up after a meal, there's no space to make a new one. Laundry is done daily, or every other day. There is no place to hide a mess. This experience is teaching me to me more clean. :)
We aren't sure how long we are going to live here, but if we can do it happily, then i think we'll have passed some sort of test.
NOW IT'S THE END!
