I can't believe it. I am having emotional swings of excitement and terror. But we did it. We bought our very first home! Its a great house.
And although I'm sure we will move away someday, cause life happens, I really don't want to go through buying a house again! We started to seriously look a year ago, and had made 4 or 5 offers on homes (I lost count), being rejected to higher bidders. The bidding wars here are out of control! Our goal was to buy in West Seattle. After the long search, in January we thought to fast and pray for a home to find by the end of the month, and then we decided to consider other cities. January came and went. No house. We kept Seattle in mind, but started to seriously look abroad, having put in an offer east of Lake Washington, but not getting it either. And then it happened. This house popped up.
Went to the open house. Loved the inside and all the space. Nervous about the neighborhood cause the schools are ranked pretty low. But we went for it, and got it after 12 people made offers!! (This market is out of control and I blame Amazon).
And after the continual roller coaster of emotions, at this very moment, I am excited. Dan's commute is going to be under 15 minutes. Yay for Dan! The park and elementary school are walking distance away, so I am really excited to not be bound to a car on a daily basis. Yay for me!
I'll post a picture one of these days. Or maybe not. If you want to see it, come visit! :)
